The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council says it will engage civil society organisations (CSOs) across Nigeria to gather public feedback and recommendations for President Bola Tinubu’s APC 2027 re-election manifesto.

The engagement will be coordinated by the Directorate of Civil Society Mobilisation of the 2027 APC Presidential Campaign Council, which plans to organise structured dialogues, consultations and state-level forums with civil society groups.

Barrister Bridget Sulaiman, secretary of the directorate, disclosed this in a press statement, explaining that the initiative would provide an opportunity for organisations to discuss issues affecting citizens and contribute recommendations to the party’s policy and manifesto development process.

According to Sulaiman, the directorate has been tasked by the Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, with engaging civil society organisations across the country.

She said the consultations would also be used to communicate the administration’s policies, achievements and the President’s manifesto to participating organisations.

Sulaiman said a nationwide mapping exercise had been conducted to identify civil society actors, community-based organisations and other non-state stakeholders at national, zonal, state, local government, ward and community levels.

The directorate intends to engage organisations working in areas including governance, social inclusion, public accountability, sustainable development, human rights and justice through thematic discussions and policy consultations.

She said findings and recommendations from the engagements would be forwarded directly to the APC Policy and Manifesto Development team for consideration in preparing the APC 2027 re-election manifesto.

Sulaiman also cited Kaduna State as the starting point for the nationwide mobilisation campaign, commending Governor Uba Sani for what she described as laying a foundation for grassroots mobilisation and civic engagement following the APC presidential campaign flag-off in the state.

The planned consultations place civil society organisations within the party’s preparations for the next presidential election, although the statement did not provide a timetable for the proposed forums or specify how the recommendations would be incorporated into the final manifesto.
